The Pebbles We Keep
Scottish Soprano and composer Monica McGhee (BMus Voice Soprano 2010) is proud to present the world premiere of her debut song cycle, The Pebbles We Keep.
This eight movement song cycle is based on poems by Scottish Women throughout history, from 1603 to present day. This first of its kind work will showcase the Scots language and the women of Scotland.
The premiere will feature 8 Scottish female singers who will each bring a movement to life, alongside a Scottish actress who will recite these poems in their original format.
This will be an evening to honour Scotland’s rich artistic history and musical DNA, as well as celebrating the wealth of talent in present day Scotland.
